Preeti Torul is an actor, screenwriter, comedian and filmmaker represented by Grand Wave Entertainment. 

Preeti started out at The Second City Toronto in 2013 and was cast as a writer and repertory player in the inaugural Bob Curry Fellowship in 2015. Since then, she has performed stand-up across North America. Her first televised stand-up performance at the 2019 Winnipeg Comedy Festival, is now streaming on CBC Gem. 

Preeti’s on screen credits include the 2023 anticipated comedy ‘Bria Mack Gets A Life’ (New Metric Media/Crave), ’Note To Self' (CBC Comedy), 'Odd Squad' (PBS), ‘Nine Films About Technology' (FXX/Hulu) and ‘Wedding Season’ (Netflix). 

She has written for CBC’s ‘Air Farce’ and ‘TallBoyz’ Season 3 and served as a Story Consultant on Big Time Decent’s animated project ‘Hotel Apocalypse’. Her screenwriting work on her feature projects have been shortlisted for the 2021 Sundance Episodic Lab and the 2022 TIFF CBC Screenwriter's Award.  

Preeti’s original 1/2 hour scripted dramedy; ’DEMONS’, was selected for the 2022 Emerging 20 Reelworld Film Festival Screenwriting program and is currently in development with Archipelago Productions, for international production.  ‘

‘DEMONS’ was also selected for the Netflix Diversity of Voices Pitch Program at the 2023 Banff World Media Festival. 

As a filmmaker, Preeti has directed and edited for film and television. Her first short film ‘Where You From?’, premiered at the 2018 Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival and she has edited for Canadian television: Season 1 for ‘Bit Playas’ (CBC Gem), Season 3 of ‘Second Jen’ (Rogers) and Season 1 of ‘Abroad’ (Rogers). 

Being in front and behind of the camera has given Preeti the ability to create unique and engaging storytelling for a diverse audiences.

And last but not least…she hopes to become a clue on Jeopardy one day. So sick.
